Prayer Request
Posted On 06/13/2009 09:03:40

Hi family!

I don't know how many knew that my husband Ari was to have his immigrant visa (aka green card) appointment yesterday. All was in order except for we filed a wrong form that had to do with my parents helping sponsor him. The consulate can't issue his visa until he can return with that correct document. Thankfully they didn't deny him it completely and gave hime a pass to return when he gets the right docs. So my family had to fedex the correctly filled out form yesterday priority mail with fedex and everything is at a standstill until then. I'm asking for a lot of prayer to move things in the natural. The first thing is that it's looking like the fedex package will arrive at the soonest the night of Tuesday the 16th when initially Fedex said that the latest arrival would be the night of Monday the 15th. Please pray that it makes it Monday, every day helps in getting him his visa and back home with us. The other prayer request is for when he does turn in the document. There's no gaurantees given that they'll issue his visa that same day or even next day. Some people are left waiting for days. I'm asking for prayer that he will have favor and that his visa will have no delays and be issued that same day or latest next day. Last of all I also need to ask for prayer for us since this new turn of events has been so stressful and the added week to the process is a big dissapointment. Having him being gone for one week in the first place was hard to face, now two is even more hard. And I can tell you I am, and he as well, are struggling with being brought down by such a drastic change to our plans ... not to mention we have so many important things we still have left to wrap up here for our move to WA, and Ari needs to get back to do them ... not to mention that we need him back in time to leave, period. Thank you everyone so much for your prayers. Lord willing, we should be back in WA the 23rd of this month. Miss you all!

I give the answers to my Quiz in my last Post titled "Merida" if you take the quiz after reading that and do well ... we'll all know why!  So be nice and take the quiz first AND THEN you can read my blog on the answers

Merida

In case those of you who have taken my quiz are wondering "why" to some of the answers I thought I'd comment on a couple things.

The ground is limestone here and many people paint things with a limstone based whitewash ... but almost all buildings are made of cement. Merida is on a huge limstone slab and there are never earthquaks here ... just hurricanes. So limestone and rock is readily available but not used to build houses with.

My husband's family moved here to help after hurricane a horrible hurricane hit this area 20 years ago this year.

I moved here to Merida in Oct 2005 to get married a couple weeks later on November 12.

We're close to the gulf, but still it's a 20 minute drive (speeding it would take less, but we try not to do that)

Pigs & Chickens are easiest to raise here and so are the most readily available meats.

The news is many times given in Spanish and then Mayan because many people only speak Mayan. Some people know English, but very few are fluent.

This is a tropical area and so it's very hot and humid ... one of the hottest and most humid in Mexico.

Our Church is named Torre Fuerte which means strong tower
