What is “My Christian Haven”?



         My Christian Haven was created as a sanctuary or ‘haven’ for Christians to come together for fellowship and encouragement. We did not build this site with ideas of doing great things for God or reaching out to the lost as some fantastic evangelistic ministry. While these things are surely the most important part of our Christian walk, (and of course any time God’s children gather together these things will naturally take place), this was not the purpose of our website. Instead we decided to build something that would be a ‘break’ from the battle for lost souls and the daily struggles with the world that we deal with on a consistent basis. God created the Sabbath day for us to rest; He knew that as humans we need a break from the daily grind. Our Vision is to make My Christian Haven that break, for the entertainment and enjoyment of Christians! Will we talk about Christ? Discuss the bible? Share the gospel with those we meet? Yes, yes and YES! That is all part of fellowship and some of the joys of being a Christian, but also we will play games, win prizes, hang out and chat with friends, give comfort to those in sorrow, pray for those in need and praise God as we glimpse His blessings. Fellowship is important and My Christian Haven is meant for fellowship.

          Does that mean that unbelievers are not welcome? Absolutely not! As long as they follow the same rules and guidelines as the rest of us they are more than welcome! But they must keep in mind that this site was not built for them, and thus does not cater to them as other sites might.

          Are we allowed to have discussions or start groups that are not Christian or Christ-centered? Yes, as long as they are not immoral or blatantly against the Bible’s teachings. For instance, starting a group dedicated to your favorite sports team would be fine... however, starting a group dedicated to another religion, or perhaps a celebrity with a questionable moral image, that would not be allowed. But on that note please do not be offended if you are asked to delete a post or video or any other content that you might wish to share. Just because we don’t allow it does not mean that we don’t approve of it or that we consider it ‘evil’. Since this is a ‘haven’, when it comes to content we will always err on the side of too much censorship rather than not enough. The reason for this is simple; there are thousands of sites where you can say and do what you like, and there is a time and place for that. MCH is not that place, if people find something offensive (without becoming too radical) then it is best for all to avoid the conflict and instead focus on the things that we can all enjoy together.
