Our Costume Party

Hello, I know that I don't usually write blogs, I don't even remember the last time I did, but I just couldn't resist it tonight. And I don't want anyone to think that I'm bragging on my family, just sharing a wonderful fun time in our lives. :) So for Hadassah's seventh birthday it was decided that we would have a costume party. They decided it about a week (give or take a day or two) before her birthday, but true to the Hawkins' tradition we didn't even start thinking about our costumes until the day before her birthday. Except for Elizabeth, she had hers almost right away. And I had an idea of what I wanted, but hadn't done any of the work. So we had a day and part of a morning to figure out about 12 to 15 outfits. Not just figure them out, but put them together too. : ) And we did it! I know it was only by God's grace and mercy though. Everything just fell right into place. And the party was very fun! The kids loved it, the adults loved it, except for the four (you know who you are) that didn't dress up as anything. All in All the party was a hit. We now know that costume parties aren't all that hard, providing we pray hard enough.:) And I'm very tired right now, can you tell? So I should probably hurry up and end this. Here is a list of who/what everyone was. Faith: a Poor Mexican Peasant Child. Mom: The Mother of the Poor Mexican Peasant Child. Michael: Michael Phelps. Elizabeth: A Princess. Susanna: Buccaneeress. Grace: Dale Evans. Miriam: Laura Holt. Sarah: Audrey Hepurn. Tmothy: Neo. Samuel: A Soldier. Daniel: Indianna Jones. Naomi: Ginger Rogers. Beth: Bridesmaid from 1976. Paul: A Military guy. Hadassah: Sleeping Beauty/Snow White. Ethan: Mini Military guy. Hannah: Mini Mouse. Clara: Jedi baby. Andrea: Gypsy. Caleb: Pirate. Ella: A little Gypsy girl. Isaac: Lumber Jack? Mr. Raymond: Gunslinger. Mrs. Raymond: Mickey Mouse. Liz R.: Mini Mouse. Micah: Rocky Balboa. Jamie: Homecoming Queen. Aunt Edna: Calamity Jane. And anyone who's name should have been on this list and wasn't, is most likely one of the four above mentioned. : ) I'm going to add a few pictures in my profile of tonight.

I'm trying to add up in my head all the hours that went into this party. I can't do it. Thank you so much for all your help! It was super fun. The costumes were FANTASTIC. I had no idea everyone was so creative! When Samuel walked in I had to salute him, he looked so real as a soldier! Timothy made me want to run and hide, he was so huge and so...black! I could so easily write about everyone, I don't know where to stop. The imagination and creativity was so fun to watch. I loved Ginger Rogers and Audrey Hepburn, they were so good. And Michael Phelps? Hello! Meet your twin. Paul and Ethan made a very threatening team as "army guys" (quoting Ethan there). Elizabeth was beautiful, Susanna looked like someone right out of a movie, Miriam's HAIR even looked like Laura Holt! Daniel even had a whip. And, I must say, my dad makes a pretty darn good cowboy. Also, how did we get THREE Minnie Mouse's? That was amazing. Okay, I'm going on and on. Lots of fun, all! Let's do it again sometime (not too soon!)!
