Mostly Apologetics

Most things involving electricity. Audio/visual, electronics, networking, lighting, line voltage.

And helping others learn the same:

God loves me, despite me.

I don't like the way I keep sinning the SAME stupid sins. Why can't I just accept that God is enough?! Why do I think MY plan could out perform His ? He TOLD me I am just a middle man, why can't I just join Him in what He is already doing, like He asks?!

Ex-Marine, Ex-magician, Ex-was-a-wiccan.
Now: back on fire for Christ. Mission minded, and mission active.
I am not a leader, I am not a follower, I am "he who stands in the middle and pushes".
I believe the Bible is the 100% accurate, and true Word of the One and only God.
(& yes that means "young earth")

I like to help people.

People who twist words to fit their agenda.

That I can't dance... "Tweezy Dance"

Preach the gospel at all times -- If necessary, use words. ~Francis of Assisi

"God doesn't believe in Athiests"

“Despite our efforts to keep him out, God intrudes. The life of Jesus is bracketed by two impossibilities: a virgin’s womb and an empty tomb. Jesus entered our world through a door marked, ‘No Entrance’ and left through a door marked ‘No Exit.’” -Unknown

If those who believed in evolution said their prayers rightly, they would begin them with, “Our Father who art up a tree.” ~ Charles Spurgeon

"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you'll have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. Maybe worse case? You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it's better to perish than to live as slaves."
- Winston Churchill

"We Are Broken People" (Genesis Paraphrase) & KJ-52 song:

God Almighty for looking down with love on one such as I, and His having such overwhelming love to sacrifice His only Son in payment for my sinful soul to enter His paradise.

Can YOU thank Him for this yet? Would you like to? Here's how!

This is Lyrycyst, Steven Cooper. Song:All In Vain (Live)

This is the Lyrycyst's Story:

Remember that when Paul asked to defend his faith and self, he did so with his testimony. Apologetics begins with truth, which is what we know, which begins with life in Christ. Your testimony may not be as spectacular as some, but all the angels in heaven rejoiced when it was played out!(Luke 15:10)

Please pray for my church as we celebrate our NEW Senior Pator, Eric Maggio!!

I thank all of you for the prayers while we searched.

Please pray for my Youth Group. Pray that God will allow this to be a dynamic, heart changing ministry. Pray God would guide us as an outreach to all those who need the hope only found in Jesus the Messiah!

Pray for me as I try to grow in Christ, and take an even greater lead in this ministry!

Please pray for me as I am now working on becoming a full time ordained minister.

Thank you for any and all prayers.

Our church is growing!

Christian Life is all "Cookies & Cream", right?

I fell away from God when I was a late teenager...and I fell away FAR and HARD.
I ended up in the opposite world from Christianity. I even delved into most occult circles. It took God tearing my complete life apart, losing everything I held dear, to bring me back. it is true, sometimes you need to be knocked flat on your back before you look up.

What is YOUR testimony?

To be who He sees me as.

Hello.
Thought I'd say hello because I haven't for so long.

I'm glad that things are appearing to look up for Corrina, but I bet it's still hard on her.
I'm very sorry for your loss. I'll be keeping you both in my prayers.

I clicked your debate link... saw a lot of antagonism toward
Christianity there, especially from the posts of one particular user. (I
wish that one could effectively argue someone into accepting what you
know they should know as true... but all you can do "be ready to answer
for the hope that is within you" and pray for a change of heart. Because
when someone argues you into a corner, your not more willing to take
their side; just less able to keep yours. Right? And "hope doth not
disappoint") What exactly do you do on that site? It looks fascinating.

And I "hope" you're doing really well, too!

Hi. How are you?
I don't mean to seem pushy or anything, but how is Corrina doing? I've been praying for her, and I'm just wondering if things are better, now, for her.

I think you're probably right about all of that. I really probably shouldn't be so... controversial?... all the time. It's not a good habit.
I'll try to not do that. : )

Wish you the best!

It sounds like you have quite a set-up there. That's an impressive amount of audio equipment.
And, no, you didn't hear anything like eye-rolling. I'm quite good at keeping a straight face. : ) Kidding! I'm kidding!

It's funny, but no one has ever referred to me as a teen. I forget that
right now I am one. I've just always been with the adults (even in
Children's Church, I think!) I've always served as an assistant teacher,
and never as a participant. Actually, right now, I've been serving in
an urban youth group as a leader, and an adult in charge. I've never
just sat in a youth group. Don't think I ever could have.
I really did grow up too fast.

I don't recall the Bible ever mentioning the ages of any of the apostles
or of Mary. : ) I do understand that that is a very commonly excepted
theory, but... well, eh...
Though, the Bible does say "...let no man despise you because of your
youth..." (1 Tim. 4:12) and "...I have written to you, young men,
because you have overcome the wicked one...because you are strong and
the word of God abides in you..." (1 Jn 2:13&14). Long haul, and end
all, you're right, but that one technicality...

oh... are you not supposed to post back and forth on these things? Do
you just send it all as messages then? Though I don't think I'm using
this for anything else. Do you want me to reply somewhere else?

~Trix

Poor girl! Tell this Corrina that there are people out here praying for her, even if we don't know her, will you? I'm sure that's very hard on her. I can't even imagine.

Oh... see when I ran sound, I had a broken eight channel mixer. Sometimes it worked, and other times not. But I didn't get a sound room. I sat at the back of the church, and my booth was an old office desk. They congregation said that that made me more approachable. This must have been so, because no one had a problem coming up to me during a service and helping me adjust things. In one way, that was good because I learned a lot, but during church? : )
So what did you say that they handed you that project, or was it just something of an arbitrary selection?
That's quite a bit of equipment you supervise. How big is your church, approximately? I'm going to guess that with 16 channels on your board, you probably have an average of... eight people?... who have cables (mics and instruments?), and maybe one or two are going to be wireless. The rack is going to be your synthesizers and vocalized effects... perhaps even your panning? I'll guess again to say that you either use Audacity or JACK Studio? So maybe a congregation anywhere between one-hundred to two-hundred fifty? I'm a rotten guesser. Is your youth group twenty to thirty students, or so? : )

I think I assume too much.
Anyway, I will certainly be praying for Corrina, and I already said you, so...

04/02/2011 22:44:20
I've had to play the part of audio/video personal before! I'll have to admit that it was not to my liking.
I ran the "booth" for the small country church my father pastored in
Kansas, and also for all of the Thomas County Ministerial Alliance's
events. Trial by fire was that I had no idea what I was doing, and had
to learn it as I went. I'm very glad that that's over, now. It was stressful. Everyone seemed  to be an expert but me...

So what is your current style of music, then? Do you like Anberlin?

I'll pray for you too, and thank you.
